The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se."

great truth

I recently came across the following quote in my studies. It seems to me an indisputable truth all designers and architects should honor.

Every building deprives a portion of the earth of sun, wind and rain and probably plant and animal life as well. It must redeem this sacrifice by the healing quality of its architecture.

under consideration

We are looking for an additional side chair for our loft - one that compliments the Eames Lounge but which has a more upright posture.  Under consideration is the Cherner Lounge.  Apartment Therapy blogged on the history of Cherner 3 years ago . . . very informative reading if you are interested.

evening at the ATB House

I always marvel at the light in Tucson. For about 1/2 hour every evening this is what the living room at the Arthur Brown house looks like. Mornings are pretty as well . . . But there is something magical about the evening. The colors are saturated, the reflections in the glass walls playful. Yes, this house has stood the test of time . . . Since 1966.

While he is quick to keep me in line (let's understand what we can build and where on our 3 acre "farm" before we design furnishings) I still am looking for great concepts that tie to La Finca major without being BORING. If this image does not fit the initial bill nothing does... It's all about the tile ... And the color ....

why not

I recently read a real book on real paper. I'm back into my library collection ... And am gathering interesting concepts for bookshelves. No, I don't have room for an infinity bookshelf but this one is cool.
